[Sing! Rehearsals] Sing! this week

Dear Sing!ers,

Well done on a great performance at MRWF, we've had some lovely feedback. We hope you enjoyed it, especially those who are new to Sing! this term.

This week:
We'll be recapping All These Things That I've Done and then starting to learn two brand new songs, Jump and You Need to Calm Down. It's the Altos' turn to bring snacks please.

Sing!'s Got Talent:
Next Monday at 7 pm at the Cass Centre. I've copied last week's email about it at the bottom of this email. Please make sure you sign up to say what food you are bringing.

Suggestions for concert name and charity to support:

We are now open to suggestions from choir members of:

a) A charity to support with the profits from our concert

b) A name for the concert

Charity: If you'd like to nominate a charity for us to support, please write a short paragraph (max. 150 words) to describe what the charity does and any personal link you have to it, plus a link to its website.

Concert name: We usually give each concert a name to help with publicity. This is often drawn from a song title or lyric that we're singing. Have a look at this term's lyrics sheet if you'd like some inspiration!

Please email any suggestions to singcommunitychoir@gmail.com by Saturday 13 December. We may shortlist suggestions if we get a lot. Then look out for a poll to vote for your favourites!

Last week of term:
On Thursday 18 December we will be singing as usual at Hills Road, this will be our last rehearsal of the term. We will then have a two week break before returning to some singing on Thursday 8 January, with only 5 more rehearsals until our concert on 7 February!

Sing's Got Talent 2025

Here’s all you need to know for Sing!’s Got Talent 2025! It’s a relaxed social evening and a chance to celebrate some of the amazing talent we have in our choir. It’s just us (Sing! members only) and very reasonably priced at £0! We do ask you to bring some food though 🍔😋

ACTION REQUIRED

👉 Add your food contribution to the spreadsheet below

👉 If you offered to perform you should have heard from Jon by now!

WHEN AND WHERE

 🗓️ Monday 15th December, 7pm until 11pm

📍 The Cass Centre, Shaftesbury Rd, Cambridge, CB2 8BS https://maps.app.goo.gl/6hRHB3XPU125YSGw9

🚗 There is plenty of car parking space at the venue

TALENT SHOW

🎤 Thank you to the brave and brilliant folk who have volunteered to perform! We have a full roster! The plan is to start once we’ve grabbed some food and drink, and finish by around 9/9:30pm so we have plenty of time to socialise afterwards.

FOOD AND DRINK

🍕 Please update the spreadsheet below with what you’re bringing, and whether it’s gluten-free, veggie and/or vegan if you know. See what others have put and use your common sense so we get a good selection. We probably want more savoury/mains than sweets/desserts, and having some duplicates is fine!

🍽️ We will provide disposable plates, cutlery and napkins.

There are limited options for heating food, so either stick with cold food, or bring it straight from the oven.

Avoid liquid/sloppy food and bring whatever utensils are needed to serve / cut it up.

If it’s home cooked, please label it with your name so those with allergies/intolerances can ask. If it’s bought, please bring the packaging with it so people can check ingredients.

With everyone bringing something you don’t need to bring huge portions! Feel free to buddy up and bring something a bit bigger between two or more.

🍹 Please buy your drinks from the staffed bar (prices are reasonable).

Any questions please contact Jon at hello@jonwilson.coach or WhatsApp 07950 434645.
