[Sing! Rehearsals] Sing! Song Suggestions for Summer!

Dear Sing!ers,

We're looking forward to the concert tomorrow but the Summer term is fast approaching and we need to decide what we're going to sing! Do you have a brilliant idea for a song we should include in the programme? Would you like to have a go at teaching a part, playing an instrument or conducting a song? We'd love to hear from you!

Please click the link below and use the first tab to suggest a song. Then add your name to the second tab if you would like to try teaching a part, conducting a song or playing an instrument for a song.

Here are a few pointers regarding song suggestions:

  • Please only make 1 suggestion each

  • It's really helpful if you can do as much of your own research as possible. If you can find a suitable arrangement, provide the link to where we could buy it, and find a video or recording of the arrangement being sung, this makes the music team's job so much easier and increases the chance of your suggestion being selected. Try googling 'song_name artist_name sheet music SATB' or use sites like Musescore or Sheet Music Direct to find arrangements for choirs. It's alright if you can't read music as they often have a play preview function inbuilt. We'll also be doing 2 split songs, so 2 part arrangements labelled TB or SA are also welcome.

  • If you've written or plan to write your own arrangement that's great please mention that in the spreadsheet!

  • We promise to consider all song suggestions, but picking the programme involves weighing up a lot of different factors, so please don't be disappointed if your suggestion doesn't get picked. If you’ve suggested something before that didn’t get picked and you still think it would be great, feel free to suggest it again.

  • They’ll all be for our summer concert so songs in keeping with that theme are especially welcome

The deadline for suggestions is Saturday 14th February. Then the music team will meet to work out our repertoire for next term.

Keep singing!

Will and the Sing! Music Team
